says that you cannot make just one
stamp. That sounds like a challenge if I've ever heard one.
Since I first started exploring this beautiful series of tubes
, I've seen a lot of wondrous, god awful, hilarious things. If you are willing to find your happy place, stay quietly in it, and ignore anyone who wanders past, then you can be perfectly happy privately
doing whatever you want. However, if you want to do anything public
, then you should be aware of something. You can have the most valid, moral, widely approved opinion on the planet but, if you express it LOUDLY for PROLONGED PERIODS OF TIME on the internet, there will eventually be problems.
I don't mean "yell" literally, though you can yell with CAPSLOCK. I mean expressing an opinion in a very public, noticeable manner. And, when I say LOUDLY, I mean ... obstinately? In a manner that makes it clear you have already made up your mind and everyone else is absolutely
wrong, regardless of what points they bring up. If you need more specific examples, I've got some. Just ask
For the most part, internet karma works. People who kick up a fuss get to deal with a fuss. Of course, there are people who get buried under more internet woes than they really deserve and there are people who are really
asking for it but haven't got their comeuppances (yet). However, those people are outliers
and not representative of the whole. The moral of the story is either pick your words carefully, embrace the negative attention, or quit while you are ahead.
